Cold and Flu season-

The goal is to PREVENT a cold or flu from taking hold. So let’s discuss some ways to keep your immune system strong and get you through these months with health and vigor.

FOOD as MEDICINE:

Really minimize high sugar, low nutrient, highly processed foods.

Choose nutrient rich foods- grass fed meats, wild caught fish, pasture raised eggs, organic colorful vegetables and fruit.

Homemade soups and stews are always a nutrient packed go-to. Make extra to freeze in freezer safe jars- a huge help on those days when your energy is low.

Stay away from sugar-laden “rehydrating” drinks (think Gatorade). Instead hydrate with filtered water adding a squirt of fresh lemon or lime or a splash of tart cherry or cranberry juice. and add a pinch of celtic or pink salt or your favorite electrolyte mix.

Enjoy herbal teas with lemon and raw honey.

SUPPLEMENTS to supplement:

You really can’t out supplement a poor diet, so always start FIRST with food. Then add in immune supporting supplements to ensure your body has what it needs.
